Comment	I have stayed at the Singel Hotel several times. For me, it is the ideal location. It is convenient for stopping by during the day for a bathroom break or just to rest for a short time and still be right in the middle of things. On Queen's day it was the perfect location. The staff is friendly, the room is comfortable and I would gladly recommend the hotel. As an American the bathrooms are smaller than we are use to but they are quit adequate and having a bigger bathroom is not worth the trade off of losing the location and quality of the Singel.

Comment	We needed a place to stay in Amsterdam because we had booked a cruise which departed from Rotterdam. Our plan was to arrive in Amsterdam a day earlier than our cruise departure date so that we could visit two locations in Amsterdam which we have always wanted to see: the Van Gogh museum and the Anne Frank house. Not knowing anything about Amsterdam I started to book a room at the large hotel right at the airport. My wife stopped me from doing this because she had just read in the Fodor's book "European Ports of Call" that the Singel hotel was a recommended place to stay. I contacted Singel immediately on-line and obtained an immediate booking. Eventhough this was a Fodor recommendation, I was skeptical. Well, there was no need to be skeptical. Our stay was DELIGHTFUL. The staff could not have done more to make us feel welcome. Our room was great, the view of the canal was super, the bed was very comfortable, and the continental breakfast was everything we could ask for. Coffee was good too. We would not hesitate to stay at the Singel in the future if we return to Amsterdam. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering booking a room.

Comment	I had a nice time at the Singel Hotel. The room, a single, was long and narrow but it was well appointed and comfortable and the free wifi is a real convenience. The location is good, near the central station, trams & subway but quiet enough for a good night sleep. When you check in, ask for "The Man" and he'll set you straight on what you need to know.

Comment	I had a lovely stay at the Singel Hotel. The room was small, but very clean. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was a great spread with good coffee or tea. The location is also absolutely perfect, on a quaint street overlooking a canal. It is very quiet yet just around the corner from major shopping and activity, not far from the Centraal Station. I would definitely stay here again.

Comment	It was very conveniently placed. Breakfast was good before we set off for the day. My only complaint is that I assumed it would be a 3 bedroom , not a 2 bedroom with a fold-up bed. We were unable to open the balcony windows to admire the views. This should be clarified in the booking. and not stated as a 3 bedroom. Otherwise we had a good sleep on the beds--maybe because we were so exhausted as well.

Comment	My friend and I stayed here and we thought it was a great hotel. The location was ideal, close to the station and the main Dam square. We really appreciated it having an elevator too as we found some of the stairs in Amsterdam just too steep for us. The reception staff were great and indeed everyone we met there was so friendly. Breakfast was fine, the normal continental. Rooms were good. Some say small but this is normal for the city. Good hot water in the shower all the time. My friend had a smoking room on the top floor which she appreciated. Free wifi also a big plus . All in all no negatives at all and I would recommend this hotel.

Comment	The staff were welcoming from the very beginning to the end, even after I had my wallet stolen (with my key card too which I shouldn't have taken it with me), they were understanding and helpful in the situation. The free room safe was a god send in this situation. When booking I requested for a canal view from which I got a quick reply by email. I didn’t have any breakfast there but in terms of everything else, rooms, location and view was spot on for me.

Comment	I liked staying in this hotel. Very nice location - it's in Singel channel, near to the city center, but rather quiet place. Personel was very polite and was ready to give usefull advices about visiting different places of interest. Service and cleanliness of room was good, furniture is also in good condition. My room was small (with bath!), but it wasn't a problem for me as I only slept in the room. Buffet wasn't like a pack with sandwiches eith apple :) There was a choise of food and tasty coffee. It seems that there was internet in hall free of charge. I think that for me it was optimal combination of quality and price!I'll defenetly reccomend this hotel to my friends The only one small mines was that my room was located on the ground floor, so it was noisy in the morning (when breakfast was served) and in the late evening, when all guests came home. If you can't sleep when it's not quiet, it's better to ask another room and not near elevator (but it wasn't big problem for me). Thanks Sinel Hotel for good staying in Amser!

Comment	Stayed for a second time in Hot Singel. This time in November (6.-10. of Nov 2009). Again very pleased with location, friendly personnel and OK breakfast. The "washing rooms" will be renovated in due course. In its present condition, it was "wet type", with shower and toilet side-by-side in a small, worn-out closet. However, very satisfied all-in-all. Might take a third stay, when next time in Amsterdam.
