We spent one night at the Singel Hotel and it was fantastic! We were celebrating two birthdays and decided in these strange (but tranquil) times to be tourists in our own city. After being mostly at home these past few months this was something to really look forward to. Sleeping at the Singel Hotel, dinner at De Belhamel (just around the corner, overlooking a canal) and sauntering around the Jordaan area. We were very warmly greeted by Ellis and she took care of us and ensured our stay was wonderful! The location, the actual building, a great room overlooking the canal, I was very happy to just stare out the window and look at the beautiful canal with the houseboats and the people walking by. Coffee/tea in the room and snacks, drinks and more can be bought at the shop in the lobby, also unlimited free coffee and tea. Due to the measures in place breakfast was a bit different than usual but well taken care of. (Breakfast is included for the first night when you book directly with the hotel.) When we rode our bikes back home we felt as if we had had a mini holiday! Thanks again to Ellis and her colleagues!

We stayed here for 4 days. Boutique hotel less than 10 minutes easy walk from the Central Train station. Located on a quieter residential street. I cannot say enough about the quality of the front desk staff. We had the opportunity to interact with 4 different employees during our stay. All we friendly and very helpful. Front desk is manned 24 hours(this was important to me). The front desk staff was always willing to provide directions and show them on a free map. They also had suggestions for local things like a grocery store, street markets and a restaurant that served great apple pie. Your breakfast is included when you book the rooms directly on their website. It is a good, traditional buffet with cheese, cold meats, yogurt, several types of breads, two hot meat choices and scrambled and hard cooked eggs. Coffee and tea is available 24 hours. There is a small snack shop in the lobby. Rooms are typical Dutch sized rooms. Our twin bed room had a "wet room" shower with a glass partition. The room was at the back of the hotel and was isolated from any street noise. They have a nice elevator, a luxury that is not available in many of the smaller Amsterdam hotels. Luggage storage is available if your room is not ready or you have to check out, but are not ready to leave the city. I would definitely stay there again when visiting Amsterdam.

Three of us stayed here during a weekend trip and it was wonderful. The hotel staff were very kind and helpful when we asked them for recommendations. Maybe a 10 minute walk from the Centraal Train Station, and 15 minutes from the Anne Frank House. While the room had a bit of an awkward layout because of the three beds, it was very clean and bright, and the bathroom was quite clean as well. Breakfast was included because we booked on the website, and they had decent selection of food available for breakfast. They also had snacks and drinks available 24/7 in the lobby, which we found to be helpful when we wanted a late night snack. Overall, a 9/10 stay and we would stay here again if we came back to Amsterdam.
